These grips let me go back to using buoys in the pool

Posted by Morrene Jacobson on 12th Nov 2025

I'm so glad I found this product. I'd stopped using buoys for resistance in water aerobics classes because I have bone-on-bone arthritic basal thumb joints. Gripping the bars of the buoys caused too much pain in those joints. Because of the strap on the HydroFit grips I can control the buoys with my fingers, leaving my thumb joints out of it. I use the tips of my thumbs for a bit more control, but I don't have to wrap them around the bar of the buoy. The strong Velcro does a good job of fastening the grips to the bar and makes adjusting the length of the strap easy. I was also very pleased with the customer service when I called with questions.

the grips allow you to keep control of the hand bouys without keeping a death grip on them. makes it a lot easier on my arthritic hands and fingers.

    Good for people with arthritis

I teach water aerobics and have many seniors in my class. Often times they have difficulty gripping the hand buoys so this product makes it easier for them to participate.

Improved mobility with the use of these grips!

I love these grips. It has allowed my hands freedom, but they do take a little getting used to in the beginning...only normal to want to grab my hand weights by gripping them.

Arthritis does not stop my workout

Posted by Unknown on 26th Mar 2015

Finally, I can work my dumbbells when my knuckles resist my grip. I can use gloves but working against resistance gets my heart pumping. I tried the grip fort he first time tonight. I did not have to grip the dumbbell to do the movements I wanted. I know I need to adjust but I look forward to the grip giving me control of my upper body work. This grip promises to open up my workout in ways I thought I could not have.
